Aircast for Android — Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Aircast is a ground control station for uncrewed aircraft, published on Google Play as one.aircast.app. This policy covers what the Android app does with information on your device. Our website and cloud service are covered by the AirCast One Privacy Policy.

1. The Short Version

The app works without an account. It talks to your aircraft, your radio and the map provider you choose. It contains no analytics or advertising software and we do not sell personal data. An Aircast account is needed only if you choose to fly through Aircast Cloud, described in section 5.

2. What Stays on Your Device

  • Flight plans, geofences and rally points you create, and any plan files you open or save.
  • Telemetry logs the app records while connected to an aircraft, including positions, altitudes, battery figures and vehicle messages.
  • Settings, including units, map choice, link definitions, checklist state and screen layout.
  • Map tiles cached for offline use.

These are kept in the app's own storage, or in a folder you pick through the Android file picker. The app does not upload them. Uninstalling the app deletes them, except files you saved outside it.

3. Permissions and Why Each Is Asked For

  • Location — to show your position on the map beside the aircraft, to measure the distance between you and it, and, only if you turn on Follow Me, to send your position to the aircraft you are connected to. Your location is not sent to us.
  • Nearby devices and Bluetooth — to find and connect to a telemetry radio or controller over Bluetooth, when you choose one.
  • Network and Wi-Fi multicast — to reach an aircraft over Wi-Fi, a radio link or the internet, to discover aircraft on the local network, to receive its video stream, and to fetch map tiles.
  • Keep awake — so the screen and link stay up during a flight.

The app does not ask for access to your camera, microphone, contacts or photos. Video shown in the app comes from the aircraft's camera, not the phone's.

4. What Leaves Your Device

  • Aircraft link traffic (MAVLink and video) goes to the aircraft or radio you connect to, over the link you configure. A direct link does not pass through us.
  • Map tiles are requested from the map provider you select in Settings. Those requests carry the area you are looking at.
  • Services you configure yourself — an ADS-B traffic server, an NTRIP correction caster, or a firmware download — are contacted only when you set them up or start the action.
  • Flight log upload, if you start it, sends the chosen log to the PX4 log service you upload to.
  • Support forwarding, if you switch it on, forwards telemetry to the support address you enter, so someone helping you sees the same data. It is off unless you turn it on.

5. Aircast Cloud (Optional)

If you add an Aircast Cloud link, you sign in to your Aircast account through a browser using a one-time code. Then:

  • The app stores an access token on your device so it can reconnect. Signing out removes it.
  • Telemetry and commands between the app and your Aircast-equipped aircraft are relayed through Aircast servers, so you can fly over cellular networks.
  • Your account details and the data handled by the cloud service are described in the AirCast One Privacy Policy.

If you do not add an Aircast Cloud link, nothing is sent to Aircast servers.

6. Analytics and Advertising

The app contains no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising software, and it sends no usage statistics.

7. Security and Deletion

Connections to Aircast Cloud are encrypted in transit. Data the app keeps on your device can be deleted at any time by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it.

8. Deleting Your Aircast Account

You can ask us to delete the Aircast account you use with the Aircast Android app at any time:

  1. Email [email protected] from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my Aircast account". You can also use the contact form.
  2. We reply to confirm the request comes from you.
  3. We delete the account within 30 days and email you when it is done.

What is deleted:

  • your account profile, including your name and email address
  • the devices and aircraft registered to the account, and their access tokens
  • flight recordings and telemetry stored with Aircast Cloud

What is kept: billing records we are required by law to keep, for the period the law requires. Server security logs are deleted after 30 days as usual. Data the app stores on your phone is not held by us; uninstall the app to remove it.

9. Children

Aircast is a tool for operating aircraft and is not directed at children.
